Ray Haarstick
About Ray

As CEO, Ray oversees Operations, Marketing, and Sales. He thoroughly enjoys bringing new innovations to Relevant customers, because it combines his love of technology with his respect for Private Equity. He is a frequent speaker at CFO conferences worldwide.

Before starting Relevant in 1986, Ray spent the earlier portion of his career in technology, consulting, and software development and even spent time on a presidential task force. He graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) with dual degrees in Computer Science and Management.

The epitome of a life-long learner, Ray likes to take strategy-level classes at Harvard Business School's Executive Education program, along with hands-on classes at General Assembly with a focus on JavaScript development, User Experience Design, and Digital Marketing.

Outside of work Ray mentors startup firms for his alma mater, WPI, as well as golfs, skis, and scuba dives.

Jim Hays
About Jim

As Director of Development and Customer Support, Jim is responsible for the programming and support teams who work directly with our customers. In fact, he has overseen all eight generations of our Relevant EquityWorks software.

Jim spent the earlier portion of his career in software development. After joining Relevant in 1992, he five years working on dozens of database projects for our clients. Like many successful programmers, he has a background in music and graduated from the New England Conservatory with a BA in Music. In fact, he also worked as a freelance French Horn player, performing in Boston, New York, Washington DC, Scotland, and Greece. He continues his technical education whenever possible through General Assembly classes and workshops.

Outside of Relevant, Jim enjoys classical music, sailing, hiking, and boasting that he can still spike a volleyball.

Jonathan Marohn
About Jonathan

As Senior Developer, Jonathan is a valued member of our programming team and is also responsible for onboarding clients.  Jonathan loves puzzles and solving logical challenges, so developing software solutions for clients is a fulfilling challenge for him.

Jonathan has authored many innovations in Relevant EquityWorks including: complex debt, accounting system interface, monitoring portal, dozens of reports along with style sheets that control the formatting of all 150+ report templates. Plus, since joining the firm in 1999, he has onboarded data for over 180 customers.

Jonathan studied Architecture at University of Arizona. Shortly after, he discovered a love of cooking and attended the Culinary Institute of America. Jonathan trained in NYC and eventually opened his own 4-star restaurant in Massachusetts, working as both chef and proprietor. It was during this time Jonathan developed a database to help manage his recipes, including portions, costs and sales. This eventually lead to working at Relevant.

When not helping Relevant clients, Jonathan enjoys cooking, biking, kayaking, playing the saxophone, and serving as a Scout leader.

Ron Goldstein, MBA, CPA
About Ron

As CFO, Ron Goldstein ensures that the flow of money through Relevant and its flagship product, Relevant EquityWorks, meets the latest and highest accounting standards. He is passionate about deploying the most efficient processes and technologies available. For example, Ron personally oversees our audit and SOC 2 certification effort from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

Ron is an analytical thinker with the ability to develop both strategic and tactical plans. Before joining Relevant, he was CFO for several private and venture-backed firms. In one instance, he brought a $3m startup to a nearly $1b business listed on the NYSE. That experience, coupled with having run his own successful CPA practice, gives him the accounting background and business acumen critical to the growth of Relevant and our private equity and real estate clientele.

Highly connected throughout the Boston-area CPA community, he is a member of the Massachusetts Society of CPAs as well as the AICPA.

He graduated from Boston University with degrees in Accounting and Business Administration, as well as, a MBA - Finance. When not working Ron enjoys sailing and gardening.

Maria Andreottola
About Maria

As Research Manager, Maria is in charge of ensuring that Relevant has its fingers on the pulse of the private fund industry, especially the leaders who drive its change and progression.

Before joining Relevant in 1997, she worked in Accounting at Tufts New England Eye Center. She has a degree from Simmons College in International Management with a concentration in Marketing. Maria is fluent in both Spanish and Italian.

Outside of work, Maria enjoys cooking, traveling, and skiing.
